What Rolling S Ranch Is (and Isn’t) Rolling S Ranch is a modern cowgirl horse farm in Surry County, North Carolina, created as a peaceful, ministry-focused place for women to breathe again. Our retreats are designed as a restorative, ranch-style reset—quiet mornings, unhurried rhythms, and space to reflect in a safe, supportive environment. We’re not a riding facility and we don’t offer boarding. The heart of the ranch is hospitality: a curated experience that helps women feel cared for, grounded, and hopeful.

The Retreat Experience: A Few Days That Feel Like Exhale A restorative retreat at Rolling S Ranch is intentionally simple. Think of it as a reset button—time away from noise, pressure, and the constant need to “hold it together.”
  • Quiet, cozy spaces to rest, read, journal, or simply be
  • Gentle structure that supports you without overwhelming you
  • Encouragement and care rooted in faith and compassion
  • Ranch atmosphere that invites calm—wide skies, natural textures, and unhurried moments

Rest isn’t a reward for surviving—it’s part of healing.

Who These Retreats Are For Rolling S Ranch exists for women who need a safe, supportive break—especially those navigating abusive relationships or difficult family dynamics. If you’re carrying too much for too long, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to “earn” rest. Our goal is to offer a setting that feels both elevated and welcoming: modern cowgirl warmth, thoughtful details, and a pace that helps you come back to yourself.

How to Prepare for a Meaningful Reset If you’re considering a retreat (or a future cabin stay), here are a few gentle ways to get ready—no pressure, just practical support.
  • Bring one small comfort (a favorite sweater, book, or journal) that helps you feel safe.
  • Choose a simple intention like “rest,” “clarity,” or “peace”—something you can return to when your mind feels busy.
  • Give yourself permission to be quiet. You don’t have to perform wellness to receive care.
  • Plan for after: a calm first day home, a supportive friend to check in, or a few boundaries that protect your progress.
